One of my clients has three sites that they manage and use WinSen Electronic Manager. What they are having to do is: at the end of each day back Up each of their sites and then back up their server. Which they should only have to back up the server. They are also having to create multiple reports for the owner and send them in Excel. Which will mean that someone his hand jamming all the data into another database. I know there is a way where the owner can see what each site is doing and he can pull his reports when he wants with out having to the managers send them in Excel. What I'm am trying to figure out (and I may be thinking to far into this) is they have the server and each of the sites are running "Remote Desktop" to the database on the server. The SQL database is there but the instance is not running, if I start the instance will all the computers sync with the database and each site be able to access the data? And they should be able to ONLY backup the server. Then the owner should be able to see what each site is doing in real/near real time.
Any thoughts or advice
